CRIMINAL JUSTICE
To prepare the student for an entry level position in the field of criminal justice. The broad scope of this program covers major avenues of criminal justice: public and private security, loss prevention, policing, justice system assistants, corrections, and emergency dispatching. Students enrolled in this program will learn security and loss prevention techniques, investigative techniques and procedures for handling crime scenes, general policing duties, procedures for corrections institutions, and emergency communications and dispatching.

Competency Profile
Upon completion of the Criminal Justice program, the graduate should be able to:
- Demonstrate excellent note taking skills for the purpose of investigation.
- Perform the proper techniques for interviewing and interrogating witnesses, suspects, and victims of various crimes.
- Write accurate crime reports, arrest reports, descriptions of persons and property, and warrants.
- Perform proper techniques to minimize property loss in private or public sectors.
- Perform the duties required in security and corrections.
- Investigate a crime scene following established guidelines.
- Perform proper procedures as an emergency dispatcher.
