Program Objective

     To prepare the student for entry into a career in the growing computer industry. Students will acquire special skills in areas of computer repair, PC programming, operating systems, Internet and various computer applications, as well as hands-on externship experience in the computer industry.

Competency Profile

Upon completion of the Computer Programming Technology program, the graduate should be able to:
  • Attain an entry level position in the field of technical computer support or computer programming.

  • Install and configure computer software applications.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair basic PC hardware.

  • Design and maintain web pages.

  • Learn PC programming languages to include Visual Basic, C++ and JAVA programming.

  • Demonstrate and practice computer software applications.
