MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST

Program Objective

     This program introduces students to all current computer software applications. Students will learn how to effectively use electronic spreadsheets, records management systems and word processing software.

     Many clerical tasks must be performed in order to keep a modern office running smoothly. These workers perform many different tasks in support of general office, business, or administrative operations.

Competency Profile

Upon completion of the Personal Computer Specialist program, the graduate should be able to:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer word processing, spreadsheets, and databases using Microsoft Office software programs effectively.

  • Demonstrate adaptability in moving from one software application to another.

  • Develop equipment-related skills including keyboarding and data entry in the work setting.

  • Develop basic keyboarding skills.
