Diploma Program
Program Objective
The Health Information Technology program provides students with a foundation in managing healthcare data and information resources. Students receive training in planning, collecting, aggregating, analyzing, and disseminating individual patient and aggregate clinical hospital data. Graduates may seek entry-level employment in physician’s offices, clinics, laboratories, hospitals, group practices, specialty practices, health insurance offices and nursing homes. When Initial Accreditation is awarded by CAHIIM, graduates who were enrolled in the HIT program at the time the qualified Candidacy Application was submitted will be eligible to apply to take the AHIMA Certification Examination for the RHIT, according to the AHIMA Council on Certification eligibility criteria.
